So I wanted to make a short and quick post about title, meta data and that other crap you see on websites and how to put that meta data keyword crap with robots and seo stuff.
Everyone has a better way or lazy way of doing it. I think its safe to say that my method kicks some ninja ass although there’s an old samurai out there that wants to battle the ninja.
Here’s my code
<title>Ninja - Ken Fujimoto </title> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <meta name="author" content="Ken Fujimoto"> <meta content="index, follow" name="googlebot"> <meta content="index, follow" name="robots"> <meta name="description" content="website description" /> <meta name="keywords" content="website keywords, website keywords" /> <meta content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1" name="viewport"> <meta content="somecode" name="msvalidate.01"> <link href="https://plus.google.com/yourocode?rel=author" rel="author"> <link href="https://plus.google.com/yourcode?rel=publisher" rel="publisher"> <link href="/images/icon/favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon"> <link href="/images/icon/favicon.png" rel="icon" type="image/png"> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/style.css" />
So what the hell is going on. Well if you want to learn more by an expert. Contact these guys, The Seo Experts, they are people who know people who are experts. Just kidding these guys don’t know what the fuck they are doing. If you click it on it, you’ll notice they don’t have an author and a weak hatom-feed. What ever the fuck an hatom-feed is, I’m not even sure what it really looks like? Go ahead and enter some websites to test. Anyways moving on. So you need a title, not like the rich kids you see at the community college in Seattle with their brand new BMW’s and Mercedes-Benz that their parents bought them or that boss who got the position as vice president or supervisor because his dad is in upper management. Maybe that’s entitlement sorry. At any rate. If people search for you on Google of some other search engine like Bing or Yahoo, They need to find you and you might need to let them what your website is about.
The meta keyword has been criticized a lot in the past and but yes,
in a nut shell, meta keywords are pretty much useless.
There’s a lot SEO people will sell you some bullshit but don’t believe me. Read it for yourself.
I sort of think of it as the “Going out business – Best deals ever” sign, and the SEO assholes have to tell you, “OK, really going out of business this time- better buy it now or else”
and then’s people that do their homework and tell these assholes, no you’re not.
So this SEO is missing a lot of find details but we’ll get into with creative articles, amazing breath taking photography, wonderful stories and all that jazz that the average person sucks at.
The basic rule is writing good “relative” content with links to the correct sources. Related content will definitely help. Funny and good content are worth sharing to other people.
Robots also follow you and so you might want to let them find you. The other crap is for responsiveness for mobile phones and also the google plus stuff is for Google to show that you’re the author. The other icons are just favicons, they put little logos on the tops of your website. The rest is style sheets and other elements of design. I forgot the put the sitemap and robots.txt We’ll get into that later.
Well hit me up if you want to add something or change it? That’s right you Old Samurai. I’m talking to you.
Remember, what is SEO? it’s Search Engine Optimization.
I like to fuck with SEO people who are “SEO” experts and ask them, so what SEO school did you go to and did you get a Master’s degree in SEO. It’s pretty funny cause there’s no such fucking thing.
That’s right, you can learn about web development, sitemap, marketing and schema. Use your location and a lot basic web content that makes your site easier to find organically, without paid ads.
There’s a lot that goes into it, and trial/error. If you are trying to get aggressive with SEO, you can also get banned so chill out with all that overrated crap.
Follow the basics and use the meta title, meta description and ignore the keywords for now.
And to all those WordPress users- Still need an author or the time for the update? Look for it in the single.php or content.php
<h1 class="post-title entry-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h1>
Author <span class="vcard author post-author"><span class="fn"><?php the_author(); ?></span></span> Date/Update <span class="post-date updated"><?php the_date(); ?></span>
