I know we all like to grab stock images because it's easy and we don't have to be creative in the process but I have to draw the line ya'll.
The famous no face, white, cartoon guy aka "person man" on stock photo websites has to stop. I've seen him on so many websites and it's fucking pathetic.
It's so sad that I have to write a blog about it and tell people to stop. I decided to use him in his normal generic pose but I think this character would probably say the same. Even a stick figure has more character than the faceless "person-man". This stock image has done some much for people, it shows how businesses work, complex marketing systems, flow charts, and all that shit that you can use normal human photography for, if you used some creativity.
I think one of the laziest form of website design is using the famous girl or guy on the headset. I know that person doesn't look like that and they're not always smiling. Life isn't that picture perfect with a model at the end of the customer service line. They probably hate their fucking job because they have to deal with fucking assholes everyday. I'm sure half of the people call them because there's a problem. They wouldn't call in the first place if they figured out how to solve it online, or got it right on the first try? They got stuck somewhere and something went wrong, or they want a refund.
So I understand that you need to call these companies because that live chat service isn't doing you any justice. It feels better to speak to a human than trying to wrestle your way through their long and shitty excuse for a sitemap. So I know this might be a bit redundant for a blog article but we have to draw the line between laziness and the importance of creativty.
